Aileen Fisher wrote a book/ "Inside a Little House"/ when I was four I opened its door and read it inside out/ The little poems formed the walls/ A warm place I could hide/ the rhymes though simple spoke to me/ and rocked me safe inside./I lost it in the years that passed/ though memory saved each page/ and sweeter they have come to seem at 50 years of age/last Christmas a most treasured gift appeared beneath my tree/ My daughter found this treasured book/ and gave it back to me
