We called it the Easter Egg house
And were not surprised
When one day we drove by
And the yard was full of bunnies

Purple with Pink Polka Dots

Sometimes Mom took us for a drive in the country
past the little house on the two-lane road
painted purple with pink polka dots;
we laughed to imagine the woman who must live there.

a little dog laughed

The full moon yellowed as a fingernail clipping
My mind wanders in the cool night air and I exhale my frozen breathe
My dog pulls the leash held with my glove as I pick up my pace
Perhaps he would laugh to know I am placing him in this line

My mum-in-law's house was hot pink with pastel purple ironwork in the paneless windows--
The three little pigs, painted on the third wall, peered down on an empty pool--
Ferns and ficus and parrots and monkeys crept everywhere to take in the view.

A cow jumping under the moon

Moonlight creates magic effects: colors may change and look pretend. A purple cow dancing 'neath a full moon, casts a shadow the hue of his skin.

The world is vibrant, yet loveless think,
That green can replace being in the pink

and if i saw a purple cow
swaying under a blue moon

It's true simple human eyes cannot trust
those colors perceived at dawn or at dusk.
As new moments come as fast as they go,
hues slide the spectrum in nature's best show.

Black cats are not bad

Black cats in the day make people stay away.
Black cats in the night give people such a fright.
Black cats are not bad,
people's perceptions are so sad.

Spooky times

Green eyes questioning,
"where's my midnight treat?"
Quality, for my black cat,
comes down to "What's to eat?"

cobalt,and orange and yellow
she'll fix you with a orange eyed stare
and proclaim you're quite a fellow

about those cows

if you've never seen a purple cow
or talked with dogs and cats,
or cast a spell, (a curse as well)
you weren't a child, perhaps.
