RE: education

Thirty years ago, medical knowledge was yet controlled,
meted out to us in dribs and drabs omniscient doctors chose,
as my mother's body ached and spasmed, flashed hot and cold,
they withheld truth; her petals fell, wilt killed my garden rose.

meds are the answer they say;
but I do not react in the 'normal' way;
stop fitting me in and treat me as me;
else my death we see

education

there is nothing secret, only ignorance;
there is nothing they have that you cannot;
there is nothing they do that you don't allow them;
but ignorance is a tool they use;
education is your only hope... thank god for the internet.

RE: miracles

I'm down and out for the count
Drop the drugs, 18 days in the hole
Peer into my psychotic soul
Duel with my diagnosis tis no account

Sleep was not forthcoming;
she took the small white pill,
promises of dreams undisturbed-
promises were broken
when she woke to the tarantula
crawling across the bedroom ceiling.

For years, she asked, "Why?"
She begged for knowledge,
threw herself on their mercy.
Snubbed by doctors who
would not share their secrets
or show their ignorance,
she became a slave to her malady.

RE: RE: miracles

they ('they') say naltrexone is contraindicted
my doc sez death would make them vindicated
half of me wants to try, half to hope in either end
one to leave, the other to mend

RE: miracles

Low-dose naltrexone improves my sense of hope,
without addiction, it helps counter my affliction-
the lowest lows that make me want to do much more than mope
are less of a restriction- it's a major benediction!

miracles

two-fold, double-edged;
problem, 'solution', both have me hedged;
doubt and confusion, cause and effects;
the miracle creates more defects...

Just like a miracle,
drugs sometimes work,
transforming moods,
gone berserk.

I feel like Alice, always bigger and smaller;
there is no malice in how they change me;
but they re-arrange me, twist and bend me;
I just want to holler, "why can't we mend me?"
